Its calorie contribution is in fact similar to other fruit. For each 100 g, the banana has a higher calorie contribution compared to other fruits such as apples and oranges, however the amount of calories consumed per piece of fruit are similar when comparing a banana (that weighs around 150 g) and for example, a medium-sized apple or orange which weigh over 250 g.

A perfect nutritional supplement!

The Canarian Banana is a supplement for very active people like children and sportspeople given its high potassium content, which is necessary for muscle activity.

As with the majority of fruit, it is rich in carbohydrates. However, the percentage of complex carbohydrates compared to simple ones is greater in Canarian Bananas than in other fruit, meaning that carbohydrates are absorbed more slowly, improving the glycemic and insulin profile (1).

Compared to industrial desserts (crème caramel, buns, cakes, sugary yoghurts, etc.), the Canarian Banana is unique as a source of natural energy. In addition to their high sugar content, these types of food often contain a high quantity of fat, and therefore calories.

(1) Some studies have observed that banana intake produces a less accentuated rise in glucose values, given its higher proportion of complex/simple carbohydrates compared to other fruit.
