The banana plantation
has its origin in the South East. of Asia, between India
and Malaysia. Some 500 years b.c. arrived in Africa through
Madagascar and on the 6th century came into the Mediterranean
Coast, reaching The Canaries from Guinea through the African
conquest to the Portuguese. It is believed that from the
Canaries, the Spaniards brought the banana to America
The Canary tree grows a small banana, yellow and spotted
which can be differenced by its wonderful flavour in contrast
to the banana from Tropical countries.
The banana shows a long shape and sort
of a yellow peel more or less intense when is ripe (depending
on variety) and a flesh of a variable colour between white
and yellow (depending on type) compact texture and soft
at the same time and a delicious flavour.
