"The most tasteful and natural way to enjoy energy"
The flavour and aroma of the Canarian banana are unique.
There is no other fruit as the banana and its nutritional
qualities make the banana the ideal complement to everyone,
in particular for those who need an extra value of energy, such
as children, teenagers, sporters, and people with an active
life, or even some difficulty to chew.
Moreover, you can take it everywhere and it is easy to
peel. That is why it is the ideal fruit for children to
take to school or grown-ups to work.
Thanks to its nutritional value, it can be eaten while
playing sports, since it has an excellent combination
of energy and potassium needed for muscle activity.
"A source of natural energy"
To enjoy a healthy food intake, there is nothing like
the Canarian banana. It is a real source of natural energy.
The banana, as well as most fruits, is a kind of food
rich in carbohydrates. The percentage of complex carbohydrates
opposed to simple ones is higher than in other fruits,
that is why it is absorbed slowlier, quite favourable
for the glucemic and insulonemic profile(1).
Opposed to industrial desserts (caramel custard, cakes,
yogourts, etc), the Canarian banana is unique as a source
of natural energy. These foods, in addition of having a
high degree of sugar, they mean a high quantity of fat
and, of course, calories. Furthermore, the value of calories
is 9 Kcal/gr. and only 4 Kcal/gr. for carbohydrates.
The organism is able to use the carbohydrates as a source
of energy opposed to fat, which means a difficulty to
be used as an energetic substrate. This implies relevant
importance for weight control, especially for children,
since obesity prevention is a priority for public health.
(1) There exists some studies in which it has been observed
that the banana intake produces an increase not so remarkable
of the glucose values because of its higher proportion
of carbohydrates, complex/ simple regarding other fruits.
The banana is a good source of vitamins and carbohydrates,
elements which the body cannot synthesize and take good
care of our health, helping the correct function of our
organism and B9( Folic Acid) essential for the tissue
development and growing. In addition, Vitamin A does have
an antioxidant function, helping the cell protection against
the radicals.
It is also remarkable its high content of potassium and
magnessium. The potassium takes part of the Hydric balance
of the organism and its deficiency implies muscle weakness
and tireness, while the magnessium is important for the
correct function of the nervous system.
" One food that helps the good function of intestinal
transit"
. The Canarian banana is also rich in soluble and insoluble
fiber. The fiber present in fruits participates in the
regulation of the intestinal function, due to its benefitial
role on intestinal transit and flora.
On the other hand, the Canarian banana is one fruit rich
in oligosaccharine which gets through the large intestine
with no digestion and are fermented in the colon by the
surronded bacteria, especially the bifid bacteria which
increases in number and help to improve the quality of
the intestinal flora.
Traditionally, the Canarian banana has been recommended
to people with stomach problems. This is due to a flavonoid
component which has antiinflammatory properties and implies
a decrease on the secretion and clohydric acid.
"The natural energy which does not put on weight"
Different to most of industrial cakes and other fat and
refined desserts, the Canarian banana is a non-fat and
non-lypidous food.
Its value in calories is similar to other fruits. Although
per 700 gr., the banana has a value in calories higher
to other fruits such as the apple and orange, the amount
of calories ingested per piece of fruit are similar to
the banana(weighing 150 gr. aprox), and for indtance a
medium apple or orange which weigh more than 250 gr.
What is more, the banana, because of its starch composition,
sugar and fiber, has a considerable surfeit effect that
helps the control of appetite and relevant for weight
control.
